Invokation of a stored procedure from an Integration Services package

Is it possible to execute a stored procedure from an Integration Services package? I see that its possible to enter sql commands that can be run but when a command to execute a stored procedure is entered the system cannot find the stored procedure (eventhough 'use mydbname' preceded it.

thx,

Marilyn

You certainly can execute a stored procedure, but we'll need some more information to help.

Are you using the Execute SQL task in SSIS? Is the database SQL Server? Does the account your are developing under have permissions to see the stored procedure? What error messages are you seeing?

Invisible controls durig runtime

Hi,
Do you know why when I run my ssis packages in the dev machine, the diagrams are not visible during run time.
I can design the package but not sure why when I start the package, the diagrams in the control flow can not be viewed.
Please note that if I do this on the server, I can see the diagrams during run time.

Thanks

The controls or the diagram indicating the control/data flows? You change nouns between the subject and the body of this post. ("controls" versus "diagrams")

If the latter, are you sure you don't just need to scroll to the left, up, down, or to the right to see them?|||

Hi,

I mean the controls such as flat file source, ...

Thanks

Intersolv ODBC Driver

Help me!
I try to import some data from an informix 5.0 table to Sql Server 2000 with
a DTS package.
I use Intersolv ODBC driver version 03.011.0021 to connect to the database.
It works well, but i can't define a parameter in the sql statement. For
example if a try to execute :
select *
from table
where field = ?
The dts environment give me an "unspecified syntax error...."
Where is the problem?
The driver don't support parameters or these must be defined with another
syntax?
Bye
DanieleCan you post a code snippet?
SQL Server T-SQL doesn't support anything close to that syntax so I'm not
sure what you're doing exactly...
From T-SQL, you would need to build dynamic SQL or use sp_exectutesql to do
the parameterization you're talking about.

Interop.DTS in SQL 2005?

Been given a vbs project that uses Interop.DTS object to dynamically create a DTS package for data transfer.

Will this code work on a SQL 2005 server?

I'm going to take a stab and say "no" because DTS is no longer shipped with SQL Server. Instead, the new product, SSIS is shipped with Standard, Enterprise, and Developer editions. SSIS contains its own API, of which Interop.DTS is not part of.|||Yeah, i'm assuming DTS isn't supported.|||The DTS runtime ships with SQL 2005 and is supported. It is an option during installation, and

the best thing about the DTS to SSIS migration story is that you can upgrade o SQL 2005, and DTS keeps working.
